Project Natal Fighting Games

While Project Natal definitely adds a whole new dimension and it will even have it’s own type and genre of games, it will definitely fit well with some other genres. The very beginning of the Project Natal announcement video showed the possibility for Project Natal fighting games. I am stoked about this possibility, because they will be able to take it in so many directions.
The announcement trailer showed an Asian martial arts master, and a kid walking up and they begin fighting. A great idea for a game would be one that teaches you a martial art. Whether it’s karate, taekwondo, or whatever, being able to get real-time feedback from your Project Natal sensei would be awesome. You could promote up through the ranks once you have developed proficiency at the different belt color levels.
Boxing and MMA would also be awesome games to incorporate Project Natal into. I really hope that EA Sports, the makers of the Fight Night series, choose to make a Fight Night Project Natal, because that would be awesome. To be able to duck, dodge, and throw jabs, uppercuts, and other punches and have that translate into the video game would be awesome. And, since EA Sports has already announced an EA Sports Active Project Natal, we know they are as excited about the technology as we are!
